WESTLEY RICHARDS DELUXE HAND DETACHABLE SINGLE TRIGGER EJECTOR HEAVY GAME SHOTGUN. WESTLEY RICHARDS DLX DROPLOCK T7226 12GA MODERN; C&R (1925) Cal. 12 ga. 2-3/4" Chambers. 30" Dovetailed bbls with concave matted rib have crossbolted extension, and are engraved "Westley Richards & Co" and "London" on tops. Bottoms of bbls are stamped with Birmingham nitro proofs for 2-3/4" chambers, as well as SNs and steel logos. Breech ends of bbls are engraved with 1-1/2" triangles of well cut scroll. Case hardened action fitted with hand detachable engine turned locks under hinged floorplate, features automatic safety, crossbolt third fastener, side clips, and Westley Richards single selective trigger. Action is engraved with 80% coverage large scroll. "Westley Richards & Co" is in scrolled riband on each side of action, and blued floorplate is engraved "Westley Richards Patent One Trigger" at center flanked by more scroll. Blued small bow trigger guard is also scroll engraved. SN is on tang which extends to embossed composition grip cap. Well marbled and lightly figured European walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 13-7/8" over leather faced Silver pad, and features nicely checkered sunken side panels with well shaped drop points, fancy pattern checkering at grip, and a silver oval on toe line engraved "K. B. 1944". Matching splinter Deeley ejector forend with inset horn tip, has Deeley release. Bore diameter: left -.735, right - .735. Bore restrictions: left - .049 (extra full), right - .045 (extra full). Wall thickness: left - .032, right - .032. Drop at heel: 3", drop at comb: 1-11/16". Neutral cast. Weight: 7 lbs. 11 oz. LOP: 13-7/8". CONDITION: Excellent, original. Bbls retain approx 95% orig blue thinning somewhat from normal hand wear, with a few light rust flecks and marks. Action retains 90% orig case hardening color, silvered on fences and sharp edges. Stocks retain nearly all of their hand rubbed oil finish with a few light marks. Checkering very lightly worn, but dirty. Bores are excellent. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. Ejectors are in time. Trigger works, but is a bit gummy. This rugged gun has been in storage quite a while, and could use a good cleaning. 51754-1 MGM121 (8,000-12,000)
