HOLLAND & HOLLAND NO 2 HAMMERLESS SIDELOCK DANGEROUS GAME DOUBLE RIFLE WITH CASE. HOLLAND & HOLLAND DOMINION NO 2 19122 500-465 MODERN; C&R (ca 1907) Cal. .500/ .465 NE. 26" Sleeved bbls are fitted with typical H&H type quarter rib holding one standing/ two folding leaf express rear sight. Matching front ramp holds silver bead with flip-up porcelain night bead. Tops of bbls have makers name and New Bond Street address.along with Field rifle trial info. There are wedges of scroll engraving at breech ends and over juncture of new sleeves into mono-bloc. Bbl flats are stamped with London nitro proofs for .465 express and 75 grains cordite, and 480 grain bullet. Splinter is stamped with SN. A wide sling loop is soldered to bottom rib. Round bar "Dominion" back lock action features top tang which extends over comb, as well as non-automatic safety (SAFE inlaid in gold), sliding bolt into rib extension third fastener, bushed strikers, gold band tumbler end cocking indicators, and dbl triggers (front checkered). Action and locks are engraved with scroll borders. "Holland & Holland" is on each lockplate. Bottom of action is engraved with caliber info. Blued trigger guard has SN on tang which extends to case hardened steel grip cap with trap. Lightly marbled and lightly figured European walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/2" over tan leather covered pad. Stock features classic point pattern checkering at grip, and a vacant silver oval and sling loop on toe line. Matching splinter forend has forward pivoting lever release. Drop at heel: approx 2-3/4", drop at comb: approx 1-3/4". Neutral cast. Weight: 10 lbs. 14 oz. LOP: 14-1/2". New leather VC case with stitched leather corners has combination lock. Case is lined in green felt, with reproduction H&H label in lid. Case contains a pair of Bell brass cases made into snap caps. CONDITION: Fine, as refurbished, retaining nearly all custom re-finishes applied shortly after sleeving, with only a few subsequent light marks and compressions on buttstock. Bores are excellent. Action is tight. Bbls are somewhat off face. Case is new with some light marks. 51431-1 MGM118 (12,500-17,500)
