DELIGHTFUL LITTLE MARTINI CUSTOM RIFLE BY ROBERT SNAPP, STOCKED BY MAURICE OTTMAR, WITH ELEGANT ENGRAVING BY RICHARD BOUCHER WITH SCOPE, CASE AND ACCESSORIES. ROBERT SNAPP CUSTOM RIFLE SS 52053 222 Remington MODERN Cal. 222 Remington. In the consignors words "Rifle itself is built on a miniature Martini action extensively (and invisibly) strengthened by Bob Snapp to handle the much higher pressures of the rimless 222 Remington cartridge. It was then fitted by him with a 22" half octagon/ half round barrel with a quarter rib with integral scope rings. Maurice then stocked the action in an extravagant classic style that displays every possible example of the stockmakers art, from its ebony tip with its double widows peak to its flawless, inset checkering, side panels, single and double shadow lines, heel and toe plates." "Finally, Richard selected an engraving pattern to complement not compete with the work of these master craftsmen. It combines complete fine and medium scroll coverage with simple but tasteful gold leaves in the center of the action which are also mirrored in the scope rings." (Rifle is fitted with Zeiss 4 X 32 Diatal - C with duplex reticle.) "Finally, the rifle was cased in a full "best quality" light tan leather case by Ian Tomlin, one of England's finest case makers and outfitted with a full complement of accessories by Paul Roberts." In addition, craftsmen's names are on top of quarter rib. Stock wood is very attractive, well marbled and figured European walnut with LOP of 13-1/2". Accessories include a rosewood handled steel cleaning rod, with mop, brush, and jag in brown leather wallet, horn handled turnscrew, and a square oil bottle. CONDITION: Excellent, near new with a few handling marks mostly on right side of buttstock. Bores are excellent. Buttstock is a bit loose on action. Case is excellent. Scope is excellent. A crackerjack of a little rifle. 51695-2 MGM147 (12,000-14,000)
