WONDERFUL LITTLE BABY FARQUHARSON CUSTOM VARMINT RIFLE, MOST LIKELY BY NEIDNER, HAVING SUPERB STOCKS BY THOMAS SHELHAMER WITH SCOPE.NEIDNERFARQUHARSON RIFLE1607218BEEMODERN; C&RCal. .218 BEE. 26" Tapered round bbl has some well cut open shaded scroll engraving on top where name would normally be found and at muzzle with matching scroll on tops of soldered on scope mounts. Scope is an early Weaver J 2.5 scope with crosshair and post reticle. Caliber is in gold on left side and SN is in gold on right. Very rare miniature P D Farquharson single shot dropping block action has side safety (SAFE inlaid in gold). Action is engraved with 80% coverage varying sized open shaded scroll, which appears to be by the same hand as that on bbl (possibly Kornbrath). Beautifully marbled European walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 13-1/4" over case hardened Neidner checkered buttplate. Removal of buttplate reveals T. Shelhamer's stamp and stock no. "1261". Stock is of classic Shelhamer style with raised chinstrap transition of flawlessly checkered grip to butt, and large swept shadow line rollover cheekpiece. Grip cap is of engraved steel matching action, and has trap. Matching long slim forend with horn tip, screws to bbl. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining nearly all of its fine custom finishes with only a few light handling marks in wood. Bore is excellent.
