STUNNING L.C. SMITH MONOGRAM GRADE 20 GAUGE SHOTGUN OF INVESTOR QUALITY.L.C. SMITHMONGRAMFWE12054420GAMODERN; C&RCal. 20 ga. 26" bbls, 2-5/8" chambers, full length matted top rib with brass front bead and marked on right bbl "SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH FLUID COMPRESSED STEEL" and on left "MADE TO ORDER BY THE HUNTER ARMS CO. INC. FULTON, N.Y." Gold ribbon on top rib near breech and engraved "L.C. SMITH MONOGRAM GRADE". Approximately 1" wedge of scroll engraving at breech and small burst of scroll on tops of bbls. Water table marked with SN and "M" (monogram) grade designation, as are jeweled bbl flats. Featherweight frame. Hunter One SST, automatic ejectors, non-auto safety. Capped pistol grip buttstock, fabulously checked in fleur-de-lis pattern at wrist with extra wave panel towards comb. Gold oval with initials "FS". Butt is finished in modern white lined 1" waffle pad. Splinter forearm is near fully checkered in multi panel fleur-de-lis with rounded edge banjo roll type release and triangular ebony tip. Receiver is fabulously near full coverage engraved with two quail in game scene on right and four quail in game scene left side, all surrounded by well-cut L.C. Smith rose and scroll engraving. Both sidelocks marked "L.S. SMITH" on bottom. Top of frame is beautifully engraved with roses and scroll, as is top lever and top tang. Fences are full rose and scroll engraved. Bottom of frame is nicely scroll engraved with 4 flying ducks on trigger plate. Trigger guard bow is fully rose and scroll engraved and SN noted at tang. Bore diameter: left - .058, right - .059. Bore restrictions: left - .028(full), right - .007 (full). Minimum wall thickness: left - .028, right - .026. Weight: 6 lbs. 7 oz. Drop at comb: 1-3/4", drop at heel: 2-5/8". LOP: 14-1/4". CONDITION: Exceptionally fine and collector quality. Receiver retains approximately 85-90% orig case hardened finish, starting to tone on bottom of frame, bright and shiny elsewhere, particularly on sidelocks and top of frame. Bbls are excellent, retain approximately 95% orig blued finish with two light rub marks near bbl legend, otherwise exceptional and orig overall. Buttstock and forearm are excellent with light minor handling marks and retain most of their custom hand rubbed oil finish, with repair and pinning through wrist. Checkering is very good and lightly filled in. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanics are excellent. One of less than 50 Monogram Grade 20 gauge guns built and this one in fabulous original condition with great engraving. 51102-2 JSL (20,000-32,500)
