RARE SPECIAL ORDER WALTHER HP CAL 7.65 SERIAL NUMBER 3. WALTHER HP 3 7.65 MODERN; C&R 7.65 Cal. 5" bbl. High Gloss blue finish on slide and barrel dull blue on frame. This rare gun is known as a hybrid according to Warren Buxton. This Rare pistol is pictured in Volume One page 136 of "The P.38 Pistol" by Warren Buxton. He notes that this gun is a combination of both early .30 cal, parts and later P.38 parts. Frame is number 3 slide is number 3011 barrel is number 2081. He also states that there are less than 6 known to have been reported. These guns all have mixed serial numbers and where produced from 1942 through 1945.Proofs include Eagle over "N" as well as the Waffen 359 inspection. This is a rare opportunity to own one of the rarest of all Walther Pistols that is well known and prominently pictured on 4 full pages of his in depth book. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Very fine overall with mixed numbers. High gloss blue finish has edge wear on corners and muzzle. Some very small pin prick pitting exist but is period and extremely minor. Frame is slightly purplish with worn thin finish on front strap.
