EXCEPTIONAL WALTHER PP PROTOTYPE PISTOL, SN 2! WALTHER PP 2 32 MODERN; C&R; IMPORT Cal. 7.65mm (32 ACP) bbl. Extraordinary Walther PP prototype with conventionally marked slide, on the left side "Waffenfabrik Walther, Zella-Mehlis (Thur.) / Walther's Patent Cal. 7.65m/m" and "WALTHER" banner. Broad 90 degree safety lever. Front of slide is uniquely dovetail jointed to frame by "T" section frame extension. Bbl bulged at muzzle. Early frame with prototype lockwork. Prototype pattern checkered walnut grips with double line border. Unique magazine with seven indicator holes has prototype metal extension at base and no visible markings. Front grip strap is stamped with SN "2" towards bottom. Crown/N proofs on right side of chamber visible through ejection point, repeated directly below on slide and on frame. A super rare, one of a kind PP that is a study in the development from the Model 4. PROVENANCE: Collection of Dr. Geoffrey Sturgess; The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Pistol retains at least 95% orig bright blue with sharp edge wear and light fading and corrosion on grip straps. Grips are excellent with scattered handling dings and negligible losses.
