SPECIAL ORDER PRE-WAR WALTHER PP PISTOL IN 22LR WITH EXTENDED GRIPS AND ORIGINAL MAGAZINE. WALTHER PP 101525P 22LR MODERN; C&R Cal. 22LR. Beautiful Walther PP in a scarce .22LR Cal. fitted with special order extended length finely checkered walnut grips and correct magazine with the extended walnut baseplate. The serial range for this Walther PP is consistent with other similar guns recorded in James Rankin's reference text of Walther Pistols, Volume I, pgs 72-75. This pistol is of otherwise standard configuration with fixed front sight and drift adjustable rear sight. Left side of slide marked with the Walther banner followed by the 2-line address that mentions "Cal. 22" and suffixed by "Mod PP". The right side of the chamber, slide, and right side of the muzzle are stamped with the Crown/N commercial proofs. The full SN has been vertically applied on the right side of the frame just ahead of the grip with the matching SN "525" hand inscribed inside the slide. Correct 22 Cal. magazine with seven indicator holes on the right side of the body. Wood base secured with two screws. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Excellent, orig condition with 99% of the bright, high polished salt blue. Minimal sharp edge wear on the right side of the muzzle from sitting in the box. Walnut grips are excellent with sharp checkering and minimal oil staining, though a small chip is missing from the upper right extension attaching to the base of the frame. Comparable condition magazine with the forward lip of the floorplate in-the-white. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. Overall, a simply stunning Walther PP with the special order extended grips and correct magazine. 51568-33 LMA (3,000-6,000)
