WINCHESTER MODEL 1895 TAKEDOWN RIFLE IN 405 WCF CALIBER.WINCHESTER1895406632405 WCFMODERN; C&RCal. .405 WCF. 24" rnd bbl, takedown, standard sporting sights, matted receiver, blue finish, straight grained American walnut stocks, crescent buttplate, Schnabel forend with ebony insert. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains 30-40% blue with some marring and scratching overall. Sights are good. Bbl marks are sharp. Bore is dark with visible rifling. Receiver retains 20-30% orig blue with wear at the carry point and some staining on the right side. Hammer and lever are a gray/brown patina with some staining. Receiver mark is sharp. Tang marks are sharp. Stocks are very good, full sized, with a considerable amount of the varnish remaining and show handling marks overall. Buttplate is a silver/gray patina. Ebony insert is very good. A fine example of what Teddy Roosevelt referred to as his "medicine gun for lions". 51138-39 TEP (3,000-5,000)
