SCARCE DELUXE EARLY MARLIN MODEL 39A LEVER ACTION RIFLE. MARLIN 39A J8777 22LR MODERN; C&R Cal 22. Beautiful deluxe Marlin with 23-1/2" tapered rnd bbl, full magazine, ramp front sight with hood and flat top V-notch rear sight. Mounted with very nicely figured, about 3X American walnut with B-style checkered forearm and serpentine grip buttstock that has a shallow cheek-piece with Marlin embossed hard rubber buttplate. Bottom of the stock has the Marlin Bullseye. Bbl markings are typical for the early Model 39A rifles. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Overall retains virtually all of a crisp Turnbull style restoration with bright blues and brilliant case colors. Wood is sound showing no visible mars and retains all of its custom factory style oil finish. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore. 51407-5 JRL (2,000-4,000)
