SCARCE COLT MODEL 1877 DA SHERIFF'S MODEL LIGHTNING REVOLVER. COLT LIGHTNING SHERIFF''S MODEL 89259 38 COLT Cal 38 Colt. Nickel finish with scarce 3" bbl without ejector housing, half moon front sight and 2-line address with model & caliber marking on left side. Left side of frame has 3-line patent dates and Rampant Colt in a broken circle. Mounted with 2-pc Rampant Colt hard rubber grips, left grip is hand scratched in the inside "THE "GEM" / SALOON / EL PASO, TEXAS" with the date 1895 in the toe recess. Accompanied by a brown leather mail order Safari brand pocket holster. CONDITION: Very fine, all matching except grips which are un-numbered. Overall retains about 70% orig nickel. Grips show heavy wear but are sound. Mechanics are fine, strong bore with fine pitting. Holster is fine. 51788-4 JRL (1,000-1,500)
