NEW YORK ENGRAVED REMINGTON-ELLIOT NO. 2 FOUR BARREL DERINGER PISTOL. REMINGTON ELLIOT DERINGER NO. 2 19662 32RF Cal. 32RF. 3-3/8" bbl cluster. 2-pc rosewood grips. Deringer is engraved overall in the New York style. Left bbl rib bears the Remington address. Right bbl rib shows Elliot's patent mark. SN is stamped on the inside of the frame and on the bottom of the bbl cluster. Engraving is of the vine motif and is present on all 4 bbls with the top bbl engraving going the full length almost to the muzzle. Bottom bbl engraving goes two thirds to the muzzle. Frame engraving is also in a vine motif with a fine punch dot background and is seen on either side, on the recoil shield and the upper backstrap and butt. There is a checkerboard accent on either side of the frame above the grip. PROVENANCE: Bruce Burtner Collection. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl cluster shows a smooth gray blue patina overall with traces of blue in protected areas. Rib markings are sharp. Engraving is sharp and unpolished. Bores are bright with strong rifling and some staining. Frame is also a deep blue gray patina with traces of blue in protected areas. Engraving is sharp and unpolished. Rosewood grips retain a considerable amount of varnish finish and show numerous handling marks and high point wear. Right grip has some dents near the screw.
