RARE REMINGTON DOUBLE DERINGER TYPE III LATE PRODUCTION MODEL NO. 4 THIRD VARIATION PISTOL. REMINGTON DOUBLE DERINGER 99650 41RF MODERN; C&R Cal. .41 RF. 3" bbl, matte gray/blue finish, hammer is grooved instead of knurled, 2-pc hard rubber grips. Monoblock bbl lacks a rib between the 2 bbls, bbl has Remington-U.M.C. address marked on top. SN appears on the lower left grip frame and on the bottom of the bbls. Bbl SN has "L" prefix. Bbl lug has "PZ" stamped. Frame has 2 inspector marks on right side under bbl latch, an arrow and a 6-pointed star. PROVENANCE: Bruce Burtner Collection. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl assembly retains 40-50% blue finish that is drifting to a smooth plum patina on both sides. Markings are clear. Upper bore is bright with strong rifling. Bottom bore is stained with visible rifling. Frame retains 20% blue finish that has drifted to a smooth gray/brown patina at the re-coil shield and grip straps. Markings are sharp and clear. Hammer, hinge screw, lever screw, locking lever, and trigger all retain a generous amount of blue finish. Grips are very good, intact, with sharp checkering and no mars.
