EXTREMELY RARE SCAGEL FIGHTING KNIFE WITH SHEATH.Rare Scagel knife with 5-1/4" double edged stiletto type blade, diamond shaped on one side and flat ground on the other. The flat side has Mr. Scagel's trademark Kriss stamp at the hand guard. Hand guard is oval shaped, made of brass, flat on the bottom with scalloped edge on top. Handle is stacked leather with red synthetic spacers separated by thin aluminum spacers. There are two additional aluminum spacers in the center. Pommel is a piece of straight stag secured with a brass pin. Butt of the pommel is stamped "H.W.D.". Accompanied by its orig black leather hand stitched tube sheath with belt loop. Rear of the sheath is hand marked "H.W. Dunbar" and what appears to be "V25770". This knife was probably made for a member of the military. SIZE: CONDITION: Knife is fine with some surface etching on the blade which has been cleaned. Leather washers on the handle have slightly shrunk. Stag pommel is very fine. Sheath is soft and supple, showing moderate wear and retains most of its orig black finish. 51473-3 JRL (7,500-9,500)
