TRULY EXCEPTIONAL PARKER BROS $100 GRADE 11 GA PIN LIFTER SHOTGUN WITH ITS ORIGINAL CASE AND ACCESSORIES.PARKER$135250512GACal 11 ga. 28-1/8" bbls. Full length Damascus top rib with brass front bead and marked "Parker Bros. Makers Meriden Conn. Damascus steel". This early hammer gun with unmarked bbl weight of 3 lbs. 4 oz. Water table with early maker mark "F.9.R." and "B" prefix before SN. Dbl triggers and extractor. Beautiful flame grained straight grip buttstock checkered in three-point pattern with Nickel-shield on top behind tang and 14-1/4" LOP over orig steel buttplate. Splinter forearm checkered in elongated double diamond pattern with wedge fastener and steel tip. Receiver is border pattern engraved, screw heads floral engraved and marked "Parker Bros" on sides. Very rare orig black walnut case fitted for this gun with approx 14 brass unmarked 11 ga shells, two primer tins with orig labels, one oil bottle, one cleaning rod, orig key and other accessories. Weight: 7 lbs. 11 oz. This exact gun is pictured on p. 234 of "The Parker Story" where it is captioned as a $135 Grade. This lot being offered without reserve. CONDITION: Extremely fine for a gun of this vintage. Bbls retain approx 85-90% bold vivid Damascus pattern just starting to tone. Buttstock and forearm are exceptional and orig and retain nearly all of their orig finish with light scratches and handling marks throughout. Receiver retains approx 40-50% strong orig case color particularly vivid on lock plates and top, toned on bottom. Steel buttplate retains 70% toned orig blued finish. Bores are very good with minor pitting, left more shiny than right. Mechanics are crisp. Case is in excellent overall condition for its age. Leather handles are gone, one latch is missing, but otherwise very good. Parker Gun Identification and Serialization book likely misidentifies this gun as originally having been produced with 30" bbls, and as 12 ga. Keels are present and muzzles touch and this gun also fits perfectly in the case. In its orig case, the rarity and collectability of this gun cannot be overstated. 51261-2 JSL (4,500-7,500)
