SCARCE HIGH CONDITION PARKER BROS GRADE 2 10 GA SHOTGUN WITH PARKER MADE LAMINATED BARRELS. PARKER GRD2 15056 10GA Cal 10 ga. 30" Laminated steel bbl, with rare "P" marking indicating these bbls made by Parker Brothers. 2-7/8" chambers. Full length laminated steel top rib with steel front bead. #3 frame with unstruck bbls weight of 5 lbs. 6 oz. Bbls with SN 6738 on bbl flats though appear to have been with this gun since new and fit perfectly. Dbl triggers, extractors, beautiful round knob pistol grip buttstock is checkered in three-point pattern with Nickel-shield behind top tang and full steel buttplate with 14" LOP. Splinter forearm with SN 14305 checkered in typical Grade 2 fashion with Deeley release and steel tip. Weight: 9 lbs. 9 oz. CONDITION: Extremely fine with bbls and wood having been expertly restored. Bbls retain nearly all of a restored finish and are very unusual, though orig, and are not a matching laminated pattern, more tightly woven pattern on right tube than left, and this is one of those Damascus anomalies that occasionally turn up. Buttstock and forearm are excellent as restored though wood to metal fit is perfect and checkering remains crisp. There are two filled in inserts on sides of shield near wrist that appear old. Receiver retains nearly all of its orig early smoky Parker case colors, starting to tone on bottom, particularly vivid on locks and top. Triggers, trigger guard and thumb push retain most of their orig Nitre-blued finish, with an area of cleaned oxidation on bow. Buttplate is very good with 30-40% toned orig blue remaining and some chemical staining throughout. Even though this gun has mismatched numbers, it really is an enigma and a quite collectible, high condition Parker. 51393-2 JSL (1,500-2,500)
