CONDITION: About good having potentially seen many years of service in competitive shooting. Bbls retain nearly all of a recently restored blued finish. Gold bar near muzzle end of top rib shows losses. Section of bottom rib in between flats and lug is absent. Receiver is grey with staining and shows a hint or two of case color in protected areas. Forearm is fair checkering mostly visible with scattered bumps and bruises showing heavy wear over many years of service. Buttstock is good, with old repair through the wrist. Checkering re-cut years ago and retains most of its older restored finish. Bottom to stock fingers show oil infiltrating into stock and drying. Mechanics are good as are bores with scattered minor pitting. Forearm is a touch loose. This exact gun is pictured on pg 87 of "L.C. Smith The Legend Lives" by John Houchins. This gun should be further researched as the inscription is quite intriguing though cannot be guaranteed. 51429-1 JSL (3,000-5,000)
