OUTSTANDING LOT OF FOUR HIGH STANDARD PISTOLS. HI STANDARD VICTOR ML08035 22LR MODERN; C&R Cal. 22LR. 5-1/2" slab sided bbl with bbl weight and ventilated rib. Left side of bbl is marked "THE VICTOR" over "22 LONG RIFLE". Left side of slide of slide is marked "HIGH" over "STANDARD". Right side of bbl shows 2-line High Standard address. SN is stamped on right side of frame. Trigger, safety and magazine catch are gold-finished. Bbl markings are gold filled. 2-pc checkered walnut grips with thumb rest. Stippled fore and backstrap target sights. Magazine is not marked. Housed in a black High Standard cardboard box showing end label with Model and SN. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl retains nearly all of its orig blue finish with very little evidence of wear. Bbl weight has a few scratches. Bore is shiny with strong rifling. Bolt face is clean. Slide also retains 99% of the blue. Sights are very good. All markings are sharp and clear. Frame shows 99% bright blue on sides. Front and rear surfaces are a matte blue finish of which nearly all remains. Magazine also shows nearly all of the blue with only a couple of light scratch marks. This pistol was fired very little if at all. Box is very good with clear labels. 51517-100 TEP (5,000-6,000)
HI-STANDARD MODEL H-D MILITARY SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. HI STANDARD HD MILITARY 178414 22LR MODERN; C&R Cal 22 LR. 6-3/4" heavy rnd bbl, adjustable rear sight, full blue finish, checkered 2-pc walnut grips. Left side of bbl lug shows Hi-Standard address & patent mark with caliber designation. Left side of slide reads "Hi-Standard" over "Model H-D Military". SN is stamped on the forestrap of the frame. Magazine is marked "Hi-Standard" on the buttplate. Right side of magazine shows "5 & 10" to indicate number of cartridges loaded. Trigger is equipped with a broad trigger shoe. Pistol is housed in a black Hi-Standard box with a red end label confirming features of this pistol. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Bbl retains 90% bright blue finish with muzzle wear on both sides and some abrasion on the left side toward the rear. Slide retains 95% bright blue finish with slight high point wear. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Frame retains 95% bright blue finish with some abrasion on the trigger guard. Box is very good with edge wear on the lid & bottom. PRIME CONDITION HIGH STANDARD MODEL E HEAVY BARREL IN NUMBERS MATCHING BOX. HI STANDARD MODEL E 82848 22LR MODERN; C&R Cal. .22LR. 6-3/4" heavy bbl. Deluxe checkered 2-pc thumbrest grips with deep factory blue finish overall. Manufactured 1940 by SN. This rare variation had a total production of approximately 1000 examples. It was a deluxe variation heavy bbl target, rarely encountered in any condition, much less with orig factory box. High standard cardboard box complete with instruction tag is unusual in that it has wood partitions that appear to be period to gun. High standard label with Model E designation and period inked numbers matching. Description is very fine. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine overall. Most all blue finish remains. Slight edgewear at muzzle and high points of slide with dried grease being evident in grip screws and around all safety levers. Gun does show evidence of light use with bore and mechanics being exceptional. Grips are very fine with no cracks, chips, or material loss. Appropriate 10-rnd two-tone mag is equally fine and consistent with condition of firearm. Box overall condition is very fine, however shows traces of having been restored at corners with some type of epoxy or glue with slight scuffing and minor material loss on top edges and corners. 51517-102 TDW (2,000-3,000)
HI-STANDARD MODEL A SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. HI STANDARD MODEL A 39612 22LR MODERN; C&R Cal 22 LR. 6-3/4" tapered rnd bbl, adjustable target sights, full blue finish, 2-pc checkered walnut grips. Left side of the bbl lug shows Hi-Standard address, patent mark & caliber designation. Left side of slide is marked "Hi-Standard" over "Model A". SN is stamped on the forestrap. Magazine is not marked. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl retains 95% bright blue finish with muzzle wear and some slight abrasion on left side. Bore is frosty with strong rifling. Slide retains 95% plus of the bright blue finish with high point wear and a couple of small stains on the forward right side. Receiver retains 90% bright blue drifting to a smooth blue/brown patina on the grip straps. Magazine retains most of the blue with a distinct temper mark. Grips are fine, intact with very sharp checkering. Very nice Hi-Standard Model A pistol. 51517-104 TEP (1,000-1,500)
