PRUSSIAN 2ND GUARD UHLAN OFFICER'S TSCHAPKA TO PARADE MODEL 1899.

Black lacquered leather helmet body with fine gilt brass trim. Helmet body has excellent form and elegant construction. Frontplate is a finely gilded Prussian guard's eagle with enameled black eagle star on breast. Rounded chinscales on rosettes with single Reich's officer cockade. Interior has fine quality officer sweat leather and silk head liner. No extra holes in helmet body. Mortar border covered with red and silver bullion parade rabatte. Complete with officer's black and white feathered parade plume and bullion field badge. Also attached on top of mortar board complete set of silver bullion parade cords. SIZE: PROVENANCE: The Doug Buhler Collection of Rare and Spectacular German Imperial Headgear and Pickelhauben. CONDITION: Excellent plus. Leather has virtually no crazing. All metal trim shows orig fire gilding. Feathered parade plume has bright colors and no feather loss. 51586-2 RT (5,000-8,500)
