PRUSSIAN GUARD JAEGER-SCHUETZEN OFFICER'S SHAKO OF 1914.

Black lacquered leather Shako style helmet covered in black cloth. Metal trim both silver and gold. Helmet body has excellent form and firm stitching. Black cloth covering in perfect condition. Exterior leather near mirror finish. Interior has sweat leather and silk head liner. No extra holes in helmet body. Frontplate is the highly vaulted Prussian guard star of the black eagle order. Star and motto in silver. Centerpiece enameled. Enamel in perfect condition. Flat gold chinscales on rosettes. Right side has officer Reichs cockade. Prussian bullion field badge on top. SIZE: PROVENANCE: Walter Hartmann Collection; The Doug Buhler Collection of Rare and Spectacular German Imperial Headgear and Pickelhauben. CONDITION: Near mint inside and out. Slight age and wear noted on sweat leather. Otherwise near perfect condition. 51586-12 RT (4,000-5,000)
