ROYAL SAXON CIVIL-MILITARY (BEAMTE) OFFICER MODEL 1897.

Black fiber body with all gold trim. Body made by "Depahag Patent". Body has excellent form and firm stitching. No extra holes in body. Sweat leather and silk head liner. Colored visors. Tall gold officer's spike with star retainers. Gold star with silver Arms of Saxony under which is the "Beamte" administrative device on bottom. Gold rounded chinscales with non-serrated Reichs and Saxon State cockades. SIZE: PROVENANCE: Robert H. Haskell Estate Collection, James Julia Auction, March 2014; The Doug Buhler Collection of Rare and Spectacular German Imperial Headgear and Pickelhauben. CONDITION: Excellent external condition with bright finish to fiber body. Interior shows use with slight wear and discoloration to leather sweat band. 51586-14 RT (2,000-3,000)
