FINE CIVIL WAR REMINGTON ZOUAVE RIFLE.REMINGTONM1863NSN580Cal. 58. Popular Civil War Remington rifle patterned after Model 1841 Mississippi rifle. Lock and bbl both dated "1863" and lock marked forward of hammer with "American eagle" over "U.S." and "REMINGTON'S / ILION, NY". Good cartouches and markings with some orig finish. CONDITION: Very good to fine, orig and complete. This gun orig had most of its orig blue on bbl but has been cleaned off as can be seen. Bright blue still in protected areas. Hammer and lock have traces of case colors. Markings all discernible. Possibly unfired, just cleaned and poorly stored. Stock is sound and solid with discernible cartouches. Brass has light mustard patina. Mechanically fine with crisp bright bore. 51389-10 JS (2,500-3,500)
