COLT ACE COMMERCIAL PISTOL WITH EXTRA MAGAZINES & BOX. COLT ACE 1797 22 MODERN; C&R Cal. 22LR. Slide right marked "COLT ACE .22 LONG RIFLE". Left slide marked with Colt's standard 1913 patent date and address, prancing pony to the right. Right receiver marked with SN "1797" behind slide stop hole. Upper trigger guard bow right shows "90" assembler. Left upper trigger guard bow shows final inspector number "3" over "VP". Top of receiver marked "R" to right of disconnector. Ejector holes drilled but are empty. Primary mag is early two-tone ACE with bottom plate marked "COLT" over "ACE" over "22LR". First spare mag is early type with stepped base and other early features, base marked "COLT ACE 22L.R.". Second spare mag is later type with cast alloy base marked "COLT CAL .22LR". Spare mags come in leather carrying case. Front sight is high, rounded wide type with blue worn on top. Rear sight is adjustable and has square notch. Long wide spur checkered hammer, checkered thumb safety and slide stop. Short milled checkered trigger, arched checkered mainspring housing with no lanyard loop and long tang grip safety. Stocks are full checkered walnut. Pistol is accompanied by a period maroon box, numbered to a different ACE pistol (SN1569). CONDITION: Primary mag is near new condition. First spare mag is in excellent condition with only minor surface wear; pin base is slightly loose. Second spare mag shows moderate surface erosion and wear. Leather carrying case is in excellent condition marked "Q.M.C." over "JEFF.1921" over "H.E.K.". Bbl bore is bright and shiny. Internals need cleaning, but appear excellent. No apparent marks on bbl which shows little wear. Ejector appears sound. Hammer roller mechanism appears to be complete and functioning correctly. Adjustment screws appear pristine. Firing pin stop plate shows only a slight line of hammer impact. Underside of slide is highly polished and shows very little wear. Slide holdback notch and takedown notch show no peening. Mag catch assembly is pristine. Stock screws are faceted and blued with only the slightest buggering of the left upper screw. Slide shows some loss of blue at muzzle and front side with minor loss to high edges. No apparent pitting anywhere. Receiver shows almost complete orig high polished factory finish. Trigger shows small gouges on right side from wide trigger accessory. Butt shows minor ding on left side and a touch of wear in the front. Overall receiver shows 98%+ orig polished finish and slide shows 97% orig polished finish, right side of slide shows a couple of small dings behind ejection port. Overall condition and presentation of the pistol is excellent+ with only minor wear showing on the stocks and high edge wear. An extremely attractive ACE pistol. Box lid is broken in several places, but internal stickers are in good condition and legible. 51696-2 KXK (4,500-9,000)
