COLT 1911A1 COMMERCIAL TO MILITARY CONVERSION SUPERB ORIGINAL CONDITION PISTOL. COLT 1911A1 866418 45 MODERN; C&R Cal. .45. 5" bbl. Colt 1911A1 rare "Commercial to Military Conversion" superb orig condition pistol. Receiver right side above trigger shows SN bunged out and new Military SN 866418 applied at factory. United States Property and M1911A1 U.S. ARMY applied in normal places. Crisp "GHD" acceptance mark. Upper right trigger guard bow shows final assembler's mark #73. Upper left trigger guard bow shows "W" final inspector's mark over verified proof mark. Slide right side shows Colt Automatic Calibre .45 next to rampant Colt. Left side of slide shows Colt standard address and patent marking. Front sight is thin rounded. Rear sight is flat with round notch. Under firing pin stop plate #866418 stamped, with remains of orig commercial # showing. Firing pin stop plate shows hardness punch mark on inside. Bbl pitted in grooves with clear sharp lands showing. Bbl is COLT 45 AUTO with "G" mark in front of lug. Wear marks on bbl appear to match those on slide. CONDITION: Mag is fully blued. Marked "C-S" on tongue. "S" marked on top of tongue. Receiver shows mild scuff marks on right hand side. Scuff mark on takedown scratch. Small scratch ahead of slide stop. Wear only on high edges. 97% orig Parkerising. Slide shows only wear on high edges. 98% orig Parkerising. Bbl is "G" marked in front of lug. Bbls are normally "S" marked commercial bbls. This one may be a replacement although wear marks appear to be consistent. Stock screws are excellent+. Colt large circle stocks are excellent+. No apparent flattening of diamonds except possibly the bottom row. Mag catch lock excellent+. Feed ramp machined in the white with very little oxidation. Small ding on edge of mag wall, left hand side. Overall, an excellent+ condition seldom seen Commercial to Military Conversion. 51696-3 KXK (2,500-4,000)
