LOT OF MAUSER BYF P-38 PISTOLS DATED 1943. BYF/43 P38 1004n 9MM MODERN; C&R Cal. 9 mm. 5" bbl. Marked on left side of slide "P.38", "byf/43" SN. "Eagle 135" inspected. Properly missing one of the inspector's stamps on right side of slide. Further explained on p. 97, pictured on p. 98 of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. II by Warren Buxton. Brown Bakelite grips. Matching numbers on frame, slide, and bbl. The first two digits on bbl number appear to be period overstamped. "P.38v" eagle 135 marked magazine. Accompanied by black leather clam shell holster. Marked on back "clg/43" eagle WaA866 "P.38". PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Gun is very good, showing finish wear on the top of the gun and front grip strap. Markings are clear. Excellent grips. Excellent bore. Excellent working order. Eagle 135 inspector's mark. Walther made, "ac" marked bbl. Austrian eagle BH proof mark to right of SN on frame. Matching numbers on frame, slide and bbl. Dark brown grips. This gun is described on p. 243, pictured on p. 242 of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. III by Warren Buxton. Post war commercial banner WALTHER, "P38 9mm" marked magazine. Accompanied by black leather clam shell leather holster dated 1943. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Very good as refurbished for Austrian police issue. Areas of light pitting. Majority of proper finish with wear on high points. Bore has light pitting. Excellent working order.
