LOT OF TWO FRENCH PISTOLS, ONE DOUBLE ZERO SERIES. SVW 46 P38 6468k 9MM MODERN; C&R Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Marked "P.38", "svw/46", SN on left side of slide. Five-pointed French star on right side of slide. French circled flaming grenade police proof on left trigger guard web. French cloverleaf stamp is located under the grips on the left side of the frame. Markings further explained on p. 56, gun pictured on p. 57 of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. II by Warren Buxton. Matching SNs on bbl, frame, and slide. Magazine marked "P.38v/U", markings hard to read due to French phosphate finish. Accompanied by unmarked holster, back appears to be pressed cardboard, front of holster flap and pouch are black leather. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Very fine, with most of orig phosphate finish on gun and grips. Light handling marks. Markings are clear. Excellent bore. Excellent working order. EXCELLENT RARE SPREEWERKE DOUBLE ZERO SERIES P38 PISTOL. CYQ P-38 0043 9MM MODERN; C&R Cal. 9mm. Rare Spreewerke P38 marked "cvq" in "00" series block. Standard configuration P38 with 5" bbl having drift adjustable front sight and thick rear sight. Left side of slide marked "P.38" followed by "cvq" and full SN. Safety positions "S" in white and "F" in red. Full SN is repeated on left side of frame, under bbl and on locking block. "U" inspection marking on right side of slide, and left side of frame. Late, dark brown ribbed grips with the left panel having a rectangular recess for lanyard loop. Eagle "88" inspected magazine. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Nearly 100% of re-dipped salt blue with no evidence of polishing or metal refurbishment. The safety positions have been re-painted with a freshened white "S" and a freshened red "F". Locking block is correctly in-the-white. Left grip panel is excellent with the right panel having noticeable losses near the base. Excellent mag. Bright bore with strong rifling. Excellent manual mechanics.
