VERY SCARCE SWEDISH MARKED WALTHER MOD. HP M/39 P38 PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. WALTHER HP H1147 9MM MODERN; C&R Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Marked WALTHER banner "Waffenfabrik Walther Zella-Mehlis (Thur)/Walther's Patent Cal. 9m/m", "Mod.HP", on left side of slide with Swedish regimental mark of "I17No8" above factory markings. Prewar commercial crown N proofs on right side of slide, frame and bbl. Matching SN's on frame, bbl and slide. Slide is properly SN'd on the inside. This is a first variation M/39 pistol with proper H prefix SN. Black grips. Magazine is marked "1345" on bottom left side, no other markings. This gun is discussed on pgs. 78-77 and photographed on p. 108 of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. I by Warren Buxton. Accompanied by brown leather clam shell holster marked in ink on the inside of flap "FALTPOST/402 97". PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Fine, retaining a good amount of early commercial blue. Finish wear on high points and grip strap. Grips are very good with light handling marks. Excellent bore. Excellent working order.
