WALTHER HP & AC40 PISTOLS WITH HOLSTERS. WALTHER P38 9844b 9MM MODERN; C&R Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl marked "P.38", "ac/40" and SN of left side of slide. Eagle 359 inspected on right side of slide. Brown Bakelite grips. Proper matching magazine. Marked "ac" on left trigger guard web. Bbl, slide and frame are matching. The first two digits of the bbl SN are weakly stamped. Accompanied by black leather clam shell holster marked on back "cn?", "40" and eagle WaA100. With US soldier's name in ink on inside of flap. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Good. With some light pinprick pitting on slide. Some orig high luster finish remains. Good working order. Bore is worn. Markings are clear. Grips are fine. Holster is solid with some light scuff marks. Marking on back is a little worn. Stitching is solid. 51569-115 GER (1,000-1,500)
VERY RARE WALTHER MOD. HP USTACHA CONTRACT P38 PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. WALTHER HP 3906c 9MM MODERN; C&R Cal. 9mm. 5" bbl. Marked WALTHER banner "Waffenfabrik Walther, Zella-Mehlis (Thur)/Walther's Patent Cal. 9m/m", "Mod.HP" on left side of slide. Right side of slide has commercial eagle N as well as the Ustacha crest consisting of the Croatian checkerboard shield with a letter U enclosed in a stylized, squarish border. SN of slide falls in the middle of the known SN range. Bbl and frame are eagle 359 inspected. None of SN's are matching. Please refer to p. 132 of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. I by Warren Buxton for further explanation. Brown Bakelite grips. "P.38" eagle 359 marked magazine. Accompanied by brown leather clam shell holster which has Swedish three crown marking on front of flap. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Slide is most likely arsenal refinished. Markings are clear. Frame has a fair amount of worn finish, no finish remaining on front strap. Bbl retains most of the orig finish. Grips are very good with light handling marks. Excellent working order. Bore has strong rifling with areas of minor roughness. Holster is in fine condition with light handling marks and strong stitching. 51569-323 GER (300-400)
