PRUSSIAN (HANSEATIC) 76TH INFANTRY REGIMENT INFANTRY OFFICER'S HELMET MODEL 1897.Black lacquered leather body with fine fire gilt trim. Leather body has excellent form and firm stitching. Exterior leather finish has no crazing but has a matte finish. Frontplate is a Prussian Heraldic Line eagle. Tall officer's spike with star retainers. Flat gilded brass chin scales on rosettes. Officer's Reichs cockade right. Left side has the white and red Hanseatic officer cockade. SIZE: PROVENANCE: Ex-Walter Hartmann Collection; The Doug Buhler Collection of Rare and Spectacular German Imperial Headgear and Pickelhauben. CONDITION: Excellent inside and out.
