PRUSSIAN GUARD UHLAN ENLISTED MAN'S TSCHAPKA MODEL 1915.

Black leather helmet body with field gray trim. Mortar board made of black enameled metal and is removable at base. Leather body slightly shrunken with age but stitching firm. Interior has tan leather flat tab liner as is normal with Uhlan helmets. Inside bell maker marked and stamped with the date "1916". Frontplate is field gray guard eagle with attached gray metal guard star (not regulation size). Mortar board complete with top knob. Mortar board covered with field gray cloth cover. Bottom field gray cover not included. Leather chin strap on M91 side posts. Reichs cockade on right side. Enlisted Prussian field badge on top of helmet. SIZE: PROVENANCE: The Doug Buhler Collection of Rare and Spectacular German Imperial Headgear and Pickelhauben. CONDITION: Good. Shows use and age. Shrinkage of leather which is normal with more models that were not fully cured. Interior liner complete with draw string. Exterior finish crazed. 51586-53 RT (1,500-2,500)
