WWI CLOTH FIELD COVER FOR AN OFFICER OF THE 41ST LANDWEHR REGIMENT.

Officer quality green cloth field cover with slip retainers on the front and back visor. Tall spike bag on top. On front is dark green cross over "41". Cross and numbers have no loss or mothing. 2" tear on front slip of the field cover exposing celluloid stay. Back slip has 2" exposure of celluloid stay but has not torn through. Cover mounted on a Prussian guard officer's helmet body M1897. Helmet body is in good condition with firm stitching. Brass trim includes chinscales, spike and base and back spine. Missing frontplate. Includes flat brass chinscales and officers cockades. Interior has sweat leather and silk head liner, which silk head liner being broken and frayed. Colored inner visors. SIZE: PROVENANCE: The Doug Buhler Collection of Rare and Spectacular German Imperial Headgear and Pickelhauben. CONDITION: Field cover very good with only minor tearing. Helmet body can be restored with the proper replacement parts. 51586-57 RT (500-1,000)
