PRUSSIAN MODEL 1915 ENLISTED MAN'S HELMET WITH CLOTH FIELD COVER WITH GREEN "156".Black lacquered helmet body with field gray trim. Helmet has good form and firm stitching. Interior has undyed leather tab liner. No markings evident. Missing Prussian frontplate. Complete with M15 spike and base. Reproduction leather chin strap. No cockades. Cloth field cover in the style of early 1915. Letters green. Retention bag for spike not included. Most of this pattern covers were used without spike in the trenches. Cover retained to helmet with 3 hooks in the front and 2 hooks in the back. Sewn inside cloth liner is wearer's tag "Musketier/Fischer/5. Kompagnie 3. Schl./Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 156". SIZE: PROVENANCE: The Doug Buhler Collection of Rare and Spectacular German Imperial Headgear and Pickelhauben. CONDITION: Leather helmet excellent but missing frontplate, cockades and original front strap. Field cover excellent with no mothing or damage. Colors bright. 51586-72 RT (500-850)
