MAUSER LUGER, 1938 DATE, CODED S/42, WITH 1939 DATED HOLSTER, SPARE MAGAZINE AND TOOL. MAUSER P-08 LUGER 1182H 9MM MODERN; C&R Cal. 9mm. Standard Mauser Luger with 1938 chamber date and S/42 toggle code. 4″ bbl with drift adjustable front sight and fixed rear sight. Full SN with letter suffix on forward frame, repeated SN under bbl and on left side of receiver. Bbl and right side of receiver with usual Waffenamt acceptances. Disassembly shows all small parts to have matching SNs. Wooden grips are letter inspected but not numbered. Correct and matching mag with "+" and "E/63" acceptance. Black leather holster manufacturer marked and accepted with "E/WaA455". Spare mag, from a later pistol, has extruded FXO, E/37 accepted P.08 body and aluminum base marked "8493/+". Orig takedown tool marked E/63. CONDITION: Luger with approx 70% salt blue finish, the rest transitioning to a patina from poor storage. Grips with a few areas of blunting but in same general condition as pistol and matching mag. Dark bore with shallow rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. VG-excellent holster that has been polished over most of the exterior stitching. Excellent spare mag and takedown tool. 51709-18 LMA (1,250-1,850)
