British crown BNP proofs on slide, bbl and left side of frame. Top of chamber area marked "9M/M-752/15 TONS Per (Square)". Eagle 88 German proofed. Matching SNs on slide, frame, and bbl. Very dark brown Bakelite grips. Production variation explained on p. 140, pictured on p. 141 of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. II by Warren Buxton. British proof marks clear in picture in Vol. II, explained on pgs. 115-117 of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. III by Warren Buxton. "P.38" marked magazine. CONDITION: Very good, retaining a fair amount of finish. Markings are clear. Grips are fine. Bore shows wear with light pitting. Excellent working order.
