SCARCE WINCHESTER MODEL 1907 SELF LOADING RIFLE WITH BAYONET, AND LUG THAT HAS INTEGRAL FRONT SIGHT.WINCHESTER1907 S.L.46911351MODERN; C&RCal. .351. 20" rnd bbl, blue finish, straight grained American walnut stocks, with checkered steel buttplate, and sling swivels attached. Bayonet mounting lug is attached to muzzle end of bbl and has an integral front sight. Bbl shows 3-line Winchester bbl address and patent mark at mid-point followed by the cal designation. Left side of bbl near breech is marked "Winchester Proof Steel". Right side of bbl at breech is marked "Made in U.S.A." Rear sight is plain carbine style with no adjustments. Rear sight matches front sight. SN is stamped on lower left rear side of receiver and on trigger guard adjacent to receiver number. Winchester trademark and model designation is found on the upper tang. Stocks are unmarked. Bayonet has a 16" blade and is marked "Winchester Repeating Arms Company" on the face of the ricasso. Rifle is accompanied by one standard and two large capacity mags. Mags are marked .351 cal on the base. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains 90% dull blue finish with sharp markings. Bayonet mount/front sight is a plum/brown patina overall with strong traces of blue. Bore is frosty with strong rifling. Receiver retains 50% blue that is drifting to a smooth plum patina. Trigger guard has some slight spots of deterioration. All markings are clear. Bayonet is about fine, with a bright finish blade, fine scales, and clear marking. Mags also retain nearly all of the blue finish and clear marks. Stocks are very good, and show nearly all the oil finish with some dents and bruising commensurate with the age of the rifle. Buttplate and front bbl band show an even blue/gray patina. A very unique model '07 S.L. Winchester with a seldom seen bayonet. 51138-25 TEP (1,500-2,500)
