VERY FINE SOVIET TOKAREV M40 SVT RIFLE. SOVIET/RUSSIAN SVT40 A5419 7.62R MODERN; C&R Cal. 7.62X54R. 24" barrel with integral flash hider. 2 piece Birch stocks with slotted sheet metal hand guard. Blue finish overall with traditional red lacquer finish on stocks. Etched numbers on parts as rifle is apparent post war rework. 10 round detachable magazine with non matching serial number on side. These rifles were used extensively on the Russian/Soviet front throughout WW2 and were known as Stalin's Garand. Receiver dated 1942. CONDITION: Very fine as arsenal refinished and rebuilt. Blue finish has typical loss and thinning at high points of sights and edges of butt plate and muzzle. Rifle is lightly import marked on right side of receiver. Bore is very fine with strong rifling with slight darkness in grooves. 51764-4 TDW (1,250-1,500)
