BRASS BARRELED FLINTLOCK BLUNDERBUSS BY JOHN HALL, LONDON, CIRCA 1750.HALL, LONDONBLUNDERBUSSNSN80Cal. 80. Brass flared 3-stage rnd cannon bbl with wedding ring transitions to flared 1-1/4" muzzle. First section engraved "LONDON" and marked with commercial proofs and John Hall's registered mark (1738). High quality tapered lock engraved with crown and "I / HALL" which is fitted with integral pan, unbridled frizzen and early unsupported serpentine cock. European walnut straight grip stock extends to flare of bbl. Stock is brass mounted with lightly engraved buttplate and trigger guard and early 3-screw lock escutcheon sideplate. CONDITION: Very good overall. All brass parts show old cleaning, and are a bright mustard color with old varnish, engraving still sharp. Lock shows some darkening and light pitting. Lock and frizzen springs are crisp. Stock is sound with crack repair at toe and 4" x 1/2" inset below lock. Buttplate screws are a bit boogered, but are orig.
