PERCUSSION DUELING OR HOLSTER PISTOL BY JOHN BARTON.JOHN BARTONPERC DUELERNSN55Cal. 55. This well made pistol was originally flintlock, and was converted to percussion with new bolster and patent breech. It has 10" octagon bbl marked "J Barton London" on top flat. Lock with back sliding safety has been fitted with flat faced hammer, and has makers name in front of hammer. Trigger is set. Walnut iron mounted full stock has checkered and geometrically carved bag grip. Trigger guard with pineapple finial has had finger spur added. CONDITION: Good. There are traces of what is likely metal refinish at time of conversion. Stock is sound, retains considerable amount of a very old oil finish. Mechanically good. 51127-12 MGM34 (750-1,250)
