SILVER AND BRASS MOUNTED "P. YORK 1837" SIGNED FULL STOCK KENTUCKY RIFLE.P. YORKFLINTLOCKNSN36Cal. 36. 47-1/2" overall with 32" oct bbl with fixed rear sight and German silver and brass blade front sight. Stamped behind rear sight "X P. YORK X" and "1837". Gun is brass and silver mounted with elaborate spring hinged patchbox nicely shaped with cutout work. Partially discernible name is scratched into lid which possibly reads "Jos. Mitchell". CONDITION: Good overall as restored. Lock appears to be reconversion. Iron overall is brown/plum with pitting, especially at breech and lock. Wrist has been repaired and wood restoration as noted around lock forward portion of trigger guard and right side of forestock for about 12" above front ramrod pipe. 6 silver insets have grey patina, brass has dark mustard patina. Mechanically gun will not hold cock with good discernible rifling in bore. 31377-27 JS (2,000-3,000)
