COLT 1911 AUTO CAL. 45 NAVY MARKED PISTOL MADE IN 1912.COLT19111342445MODERN; C&RCal. 45. 5" bbl. Very good condition Navy marked 1911, nearly orig, made in 1912. Wide spur stubby hammer. Short tang grip safety. Flat mainspring housing. Checkered magazine release. Milled thumb safety. Checkered slide stop with 1911 undercut. Slotted magazine catch lock. Post WWII magazine with spot welded bottom. 1913 vintage "P H" marked bbl (later). Slide left has last patent date 1911 with circled Rampant Colt to rear. Rounded tapered front sight. Rounded rear sight with rnd notch. Slide right marked "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. NAVY". Sans serif "H" above firing pin stop plate. CONDITION: Very good condition. Dbl diamond stocks show moderate erosion with some minor flattening of diamonds. Front grip strap mostly in the white. Mainspring housing mostly in the white. Two stock screws appear to have been reblued. Magazine catch lock very good plus. Bore shows pitting but lands still visible. Slide top front missing 50% of finish. Slide top rear most finish remains. Muzzle somewhat worn. 80% orig finish remaining. First year Navy production pistols are seldom found in better condition than this one. Replacement magazine shows most of its finish. Bbl to bushing fit appears loose. Mechanics are fine. Overall, this Navy marked pistol has a very attractive appearance. 52528-42 KXK (5,000-7,500)
