COLT 1911 CAL. 45 AUTOMATIC ARMY MARKED PISTOL 1913 PRODUCTION. COLT 1911 33044 45 MODERN; C&R Cal. 45. 5" bbl. Army marked 1911, nearly orig. Made in 1913. Wide stubby hammer. Short tang grip safety. Flat mainspring housing. Checkered magazine release. Milled thumb safety. Checkered slide stop with 1911 undercut. Slotted magazine catchlock. Type III two-tone magazine (later). Bbl is "P H" horizontal marked without relief cut under link (proper). Slide left has patent date 1911 and uncircled Rampant Colt at rear. Right side has "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY". Front sight is thin, tapered, and rounded with no flattening on top. Rear sight is rounded with rnd notch. Rear sight registration mark lines up properly. Frame left "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" marked on dustcover. "WGP" cartouche above magazine release button. CONDITION: Fine condition. Sights are in very good+ condition. Stock screw slots very good+. Dbl diamond stocks slightly worn on bottom with some flattening of the diamonds. Slight erosion of finish on front gripstrap. Mainspring housing shows typical holster wear mark. Only slight finish wear on front edges of dust cover. Some finish erosion on butt. Bore heavily frosted. Mechanics are fine. Overall, very attractive, mostly orig except for magazine, 1913 Army pistol with 92% orig finish remaining with most of the wear on the grip straps. 52528-3 KXK (3,500-7,500)
