SUPERB COLT 1911 A1 BLUED 1941 PRODUCTION PISTOL IN EXCELLENT PLUS CONDITION. COLT 1911 732038 45 MODERN; C&R Cal. 45. 5" bbl. Flat thin rounded front sight. Flat rounded notch rear sight. Wide spur hammer. Checkered thumb safety. Serrated slide stop (later part). Long tang grip safety. Checkered mainspring housing. Short milled checkered trigger. Checkered Coltwood stocks with concave escutcheon rings and hollow backs. Bbl "COLT 45 AUTO" marked with small "G" inspector mark in front of lug. Slide has matching SN under firing pin stop plate. Trigger guard bow right shows "69" final assembler number. Trigger guard left shows "W" final inspector mark over verified proof. Frame left marked "P" below magazine catch release and "RS" cartouche under slide stop. CONDITION: Very fine. Brush blued finish showing minor scratches on most surfaces. Very minor scratches on top and right surface of slide. Slide retains 98%+ orig finish. Front grip strap slight thinning of blue. Mainspring housing thinning of blue. Frame retains approximately 98% orig finish. Small parts retain 95%+ orig finish. Magazine is postwar welded base type. Mechanics are crisp. Overall, an extremely attractive "RS" inspected blued 1911A1 pistol in almost orig condition with only a replaced slide stop and a postwar magazine. 52528-35 KXK (3,500-8,000)
