SUPERB COLT 1911 A1 BLUED 1941 PRODUCTION PISTOL IN EXCELLENT PLUS CONDITION. COLT 1911A1 730123 45 MODERN; C&R Cal. 45. 5" bbl. Flat thin rounded front sight. Flat rounded notch rear sight. Wide spur hammer. Checkered thumb safety. Checkered slide stop. Long tang grip safety. Checkered mainspring housing. Short milled checkered trigger. Checkered Coltwood stocks with concave escutcheon rings and hollow backs. Bbl "COLT 45 AUTO" marked with small "G" inspector mark in front of lug. Slide has matching SN under firing pin stop plate. Trigger guard bow right shows "60" final assembler number. Trigger guard left shows "T" final inspector mark over verified proof. Frame left marked "P" below magazine catch release and "RS" cartouche under slide stop. CONDITION: Very fine. Brush blued finish. Slide retains 90%+ orig finish with most loss spread over the entire surface. Front grip strap considerable thinning of blue. Mainspring housing thinning of blue. Frame retains approximately 85% orig finish. All small parts show loss of finish at highlights. Detent spring tunnel has 99% of of finish. Grip safety shows just a touch of wear on tang. Much of frame loss is due to front grip strap. Trigger guard bow shows typical holster wear. Rear sight shows some lack of finish on top surface. All parts are 100% orig and in excellent condition. Grip screws right side show some loss of finish but all slots are in perfect condition. Magazine catch lock shows moderate screwdriver damage. Grooves in bbl appear to be frosted but may clean up. Fully blued unmarked pinned base magazine of Colt manufacture (proper). Mechanics are crisp. Overall, a very attractive "RS" inspected blued 1911A1 pistol in excellent orig condition. 52528-18 KXK (3,000-6,500)
