FINE POST WWI PRODUCTION COMMERCIAL COLT 45 GOVERNMENT MODEL PISTOL WITH BOX.COLTGOVERNMENTC14459745W/2 MAGSMODERN; C&RCal. 45. 5" bbl. Blue finish overall with traditional Colt commercial markings on slide. This 1925 production Government Model would be one of the first utilizing the A1 features including recessed finger grooves at trigger and arched mainspring housing. These transitional Government models are rarely found in good condition. 2-pc checkered walnut grips with two-tone Colt magazines, one commercially marked and the other without markings. Gun is housed in a later period brown Colt box with contemporary labels and spurious SN on bottom. CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining most all orig finish with slight thinning and finish loss on front strap of grip, and minor finish loss on crowns of slide and at muzzle. Several small areas of corrosion are evident on left side of slide above address. Visible numbers matching. Mechanics are fine. Bore is good with sharp rifling with slight discoloration in corners of grooves. An uncommon and desirable 1911 Government Model. 52472-19 TDW (2,000-3,000)
