COLT COMMERCIAL GOVERNMENT MODEL SEMI-AUTO PISTOL.COLTGOVT MDLC16757145 ACPMODERN; C&RCal. 45 ACP. Blue finish with 5" civilian bbl that is unmarked. Slide is matching numbered to the frame with orig half-moon front sight and flat top rear sight that may be an old replacement. Slide has standard Colt address & patent markings on left side with "COLT AUTOMATIC CALIBRE .45" and the Rampant Colt on the right side. Frame is marked "GOVERNMENT MODEL" over the SN on the right side. Pistol has wide, long hammer spur and short grip safety spur with checkered, arched main spring housing. Mounted with replacement full checkered wood grips. Accompanied by an orig 2-tone magazine with marked base. This pistol was produced in about 1933 and probably saw service during WWII. CONDITION: Very fine. Overall retains about 97-98% strong, bright factory style blue that is possibly an old factory restoration. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore, has been fired but very little. Grips have a few chipped diamonds and show moderate diamond point wear.
