FINE PAINTED WWII A-2 JACKET OF 1ST LIEUTENANT EUGENE EMMONS, 317TH FIGHTER SQUADRON.

This is a relatively fine brown leather A-2 complete with label, stenciled name of E. H. Emmons along with blocked out name of G. B. Edwards, the earlier owner. Painted on reverse of jacket is a P-47 Thunderbolt and left sleeve has a painted American flag, sewn leather Lieutenant bars are found on either shoulder. Lt. Eugene Emmons was an Ace and is listed on the 317th Fighter Squadron website as being the pilot of the "HUN HUNTER", number "25" and has 9 confirmed aerial victories and was the recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross. SIZE: CONDITION: Leather body and lining are fine, complete and supple, good label. Skirt is intact, one large tear. Cuffs are frayed but mostly intact. Zipper and snaps are functional. This jacket is "as found" and fresh to market, apparently stored since the war. 52561-1 JS (3,000-5,000)
