ELEGANT DWM ARTILLERY LUGER WITH SNAIL DRUM AND CARRY POUCH. DWM LUGER 461 9MM MODERN; C&R Cal. 9mm. 8" bbl. Blue finish overall with straw finish control levers and trigger. DWM marked toggle with chamber dated 1914. Adjustable rear sight with graduations 1-8 with early fine screws on both front and rear sights. Fine early 3-digit SN example. 2-pc checkered walnut stocks, complete with wood based magazine and 1st pattern 32 rnd snail drum marked "B/N" for manufacturer and SN'd 80155. A contemporary snail drum pouch is included with this rig with little known as to the manufacturer or origin of pouch. CONDITION: Very fine overall, with most rust blue finish remaining, with typical slight loss of finish at forward edge of frame, high points of sights and rear of stock lug. Straw finish has faded with only 25-30% remaining on trigger, takedown latch and even less on safety. Bore is frosted with sharp rifling. After detailed disassembly, all numbers found to be matching with exception of wood base magazine and unnumbered grips. Bolt hold open has unusual coloring from possible earlier repair but numbered properly and functions properly. Mechanics are crisp. Snail drum is very fine with good spring tension and appears functional in all manner. Most blue finish remains and is a far above average example. Contemporary leather pouch for drum is in fine condition with strong stitching and supple leather. 52528-31 TDW (3,500-4,500)
