OUTSTANDING PERSIAN ARTILLERY LUGER RIG MANUFACTURED 1934-1935.MAUSERLUGER39359MMMODERN; C&RCal. 9mm. 7-3/4" bbl. Deep rust blue finish overall with traditional slide adjustable rear sight and 2-pc checkered walnut grips with straw finished operating levers and trigger. Complete with its matching shoulder board stock, leather holster, magazine pouch, and shoulder straps. This rare and desirable Persian rig has Persian crest over chamber. SNs and manufacturer's nomenclature all written in Farsi. Purchased by the Shah of Persian (modern day Iran) in 1934. CONDITION: Extremely fine overall with most blue finish remaining and typical highpoint finish loss from holster wear and firing. Bore is bright with sharp rifling and mechanics are fine. Approximately 40% straw finish remains on control levers and trigger. All visible numbers, with exception of magazine, are matching. These rigs are very rarely encountered with original finish and this one is exquisite. A small quantity of these were imported in the 1980's, however those guns were import marked and re-numbered; this example is not one of those guns and remains in its original, unaltered configuration and condition. Board stock is very fine with slight finish loss at highpoints of iron but very strong Persian markings exist. Holster is very fine with strong stitching, supple leather, complete with wiping rod and tool. Bright bore with functioning mechanics, numbers matching except magazine as noted. An outstanding example and would be very hard to improve upon. 52528-2 TDW (3,500-5,500)
