DESIRABLE MAUSER 42 CODE P08 LUGER WITH POSTWAR NORWEGIAN ACCEPTANCE MARKINGS.MAUSERLUGER7499c9MMMODERN; C&RCal. 9mm. 4" bbl. Blue finish overall. 42 code on toggle, indicating Mauser production. 1940 over chamber for date of manufacture. 2-pc checkered walnut grips with rich blued control levers and trigger. Norwegian acceptance marking found on backstrap (N-4285) and found on base of matching aluminum based magazine. Housed in an outstanding white stitched Kreigs Marine clam shell holster. CONDITION: Very fine overall with light holster wear and finish loss on sides of muzzle and top of receiver across the 1940 chamber date. Bottom of grip has slight holster wear as to be expected. After detailed disassembly, all numbers observed including grips and firing pin were found to be matching. Bore is frosted with strong rifling. Mechanics are fine. A real survivor having been issued in 1940 and later utilized by the Norwegians and still remains in prime condition. 52528-9 TDW (2,500-3,500)
