OUTSTANDING MAUSER S42 CODE G DATE P-08 9 MM LUGER.MAUSERLUGER4694b9MMMODERN; C&RCal. 9mm. 4" bbl. Rust blue finish with straw finish, control lever and trigger. 2-pc checkered walnut grips with "G" date on crest of chamber indicating 1935 production. Appropriate military proofs on both bbl and right side of receiver. S/42 on forward toggle assembly indicating Mauser manufacture. Aluminum based nickel magazine. CONDITION: Very fine overall with most all finish remaining, with only marginal but typical finish loss at high points of sideplate, leading edges of frame and muzzle wear. After detailed disassembly, numbers found to be matching including magazine. Grips, firing pin and firing pin retainer were found not to be numbered, which is believed to be appropriate and correct. Mechanics need attention as gun fails to fire possibly due to dried grease internally. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. 52528-14 TDW (1,250-1,750)
